Somebody's always trying to flex on you.

Rider: Jason Sison

It was a post Thanksgiving session going down at Anthem park. It was a 54 degrees F, a bit brisk! As soon as I snapped this cellie pict, somebody asked, "How long you guys been riding?"

I turned around and it was the 5-0. I said, "about 20 years."

"Incredible!" He responded, "but you guys have got to go. People are calling in saying people can't play basket ball out here."

First of all, the park was pretty much a ghost town, there were multiple courts and only one dude on another court on the other end playing by himself.

Secondly, NOBODY was waiting to play.

If someone actually did call in, they had nothing better to do with their life than look out the window and try to flex on us 'cuz they can't understand why two dudes are riding bikes on an already jacked up basket ball court.

Maaaan...somebody's always tryin' to flex on you.....

Progression.

Just saw this clip of my friend, Yuki, from the Ikebukuro area in Tokyo. I first met him in 2004. He was just a beginner. 6 years later, this dude is busting out! Make dreams reality...

Note to John Ing: Backward spinning half-hiker at 1:50.

Venice Beach!

So I'm back again with another bangin' update!

Today we cruised to Venice Beach!
We rolled Sunet Blvd to the beach to avoid freeway traffic. Usually you expect to see Beemers, Benz, and Bentleys on Sunset, but you know...rock what you want to rock!

Taka gets a taste of Dogtown. (aka Venice Beach)

We sessioned Ocean Park 'til sundown.

This is November in Cali!

Afterwards we met up with John Ing and he took us to an Okonomiyaki restaurant called Ebisu.
This was my first time eating Okonomiyaki in a restaurant on this side of the planet.
It was tasty and I will be back at Ebisu again!

We closed the place out and decided to try out Taka's Back Wheel battle machine!

You wanna ride? We ride...just come down to Studio City and we'll get the session on!
Richard rolled up to join us.

After the session we all kicked it up to Universal City Walk.

Yo boy, Frank, holdin' down a new riding spot?

From Okinawa to LA for 40 years of BMX!

I haven't been up on the blog for a minute.
Today, John Ing and I just picked up your boy, Taka from LAX. Taka is a rider from Okinawa, Japan who studies english in Canada. He's down here to see LA, ride, and check out the 40 years of BMX event this coming weekend.

Up in the lab, Taka gets a sneak peak at the next Diversion video. Coming soon!

Flatland Trivia Fact:
Taka along with many other great flatlanders in Japan such as Hiro Morizaki, used to play soccer before riding flatland. Hmmmm.....

Check out 40 years of BMX event this weekend!
